The HISD Board of Trustees is seeking feedback on the district’s Goals and Constraints. What does that mean?

Every five years, the district issues a short set of goals—not more than 5—to the superintendent. They also issue a short series of constraints: things the superintendent must do (or not do) while accomplishing these goals. You can read the goals and constraints here and comment on them here.

We are excited to welcome back Benjamin Holloway to Carnegie for our Special Program: "Wise college advice for high school students" 
Benjamin Hollaway with Apply With Sanity; Apply with Sanity is a project of Benjamin Holloway. Benjamin (he/him/his) worked as an English teacher for 17 years and an Art History teacher for eight years. He taught in three different high schools in Texas, including CVHS!  

On Tuesday morning, February 28, FACE representative Cameron Cruise and Mr. Moss led a group of parents on a tour of CVHS. Parents met in room 124 for coffee, toured the school, and then offered feedback. We want to thank everyone who attended. FACE will offer another tour in the fall if you missed this one. Thank you to Susan Hawes for coordinating this effort.

We reached out you and donations poured in to support “I Love Carnegie” campaign. With your generosity, we were able to receive a total $2,533. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! if you missed the opportunity to donate, we still have Friends and Family Campaign active the whole year

PTO College Readiness Committee organized 6 Sessions with Ms Chanae Galloway to provide a head start to our parents in regard to the College Application process. A huge Thank you to Ms Chanae Galloway, College Readiness Committee Chair - Aliya Tauzhanova, Exec Board Liason - Gauri Semlani and Committee Members - Alison Moorhead, Ana-Maria Nicolae, Priyanka Pakyalla & Maria Calzada for the tremendous effort that went behind the scenes to bring this initiative to fruition.
